The 1020 RC Drone Motor is a powerful and compact coreless DC motor designed for high-performance micro-aerial vehicles. Measuring 10mm x 20mm, this motor is specifically engineered to drive 55mm, 75mm, and 76mm propellers, making it an excellent choice for custom-built micro FPV drones and high-velocity mini fans. The 1020 Coreless RC Drone Motor (10mm x 20mm) is a powerhouse in the micro-propulsion category. At Electrapac, we recommend this motor for enthusiasts looking to build or repair "Heavy-Duty" micro drones or high-speed mini fans. The extra 2mm in diameter compared to standard 8mm motors provides a significant increase in torque, allowing for larger propellers and more aggressive flight maneuvers.
The 1020 motor is a "Hollow Cup" coreless DC motor designed for 1S (3.7V) operation. Because it lacks a heavy iron core, it can reach an incredible 45,500RPM almost instantly. This rapid acceleration is vital for micro drones that need to recover quickly from dives or maintain stability in light outdoor breezes.
Superior Torque: The 10mm can size offers more surface area for magnets, resulting in higher torque than the common 7mm or 8mm motors.
Large Propeller Support: Optimized to drive 55mm, 65mm, and even 75mm propellers, making it ideal for larger micro frames.
Strong Magnetic Field: Utilizes high-performance permanent magnets to ensure consistent power delivery even at the end of a battery cycle.
High-Speed Cooling: The hollow cup design helps dissipate heat faster than traditional brushed motors, though airflow is still recommended for longevity.
Versatile Lead Wires: Flexible, color-coded wires make it easy to identify rotation (CW vs CCW) during your Electrapac build.
To ensure your Electrapac micro drone flies straight, pay close attention to the motor rotation:
Rotation Check: * Red & Blue Wires: Typically Clockwise (CW).
Black & White Wires: Typically Counter-Clockwise (CCW).
Installation: Ensure the motor is snug in the mount. If the motor is loose, it will create high-frequency vibrations that can confuse your flight controller's gyro.
Shaft Care: When pushing on a propeller, support the bottom of the motor (the plastic cap) to avoid pushing the shaft through the back and ruining the internal brushes.
Large Micro Drones: The primary choice for 85mm to 100mm brushed quadcopter frames.
Mini Handheld Fans: Driving 55mm to 76mm fan blades for powerful, portable cooling.
DIY Aircraft: Powering lightweight foam-board airplanes and gliders.
Educational Robotics: Used in high-speed propulsion experiments or small hovercraft projects.
We test our 1020 Motors to ensure they meet the high-RPM demands of modern micro-flight. At
