The DC 50V 5A 250W 3-in-1 Digital Meter is a compact, high-precision power monitoring solution for modern DC systems. At Electrapac, we recommend this multifunctional gauge for DIY bench power supplies, solar charging stations, and motor testing rigs where you need to track voltage, current, and total power consumption simultaneously.
This module features a high-contrast backlit LCD that provides a "triple-view" of your electrical system. Unlike basic voltmeters, this unit calculates real-time wattage (P = V X I), eliminating the need for manual calculations. Its integrated shunt allows for a clean, low-profile installation without the need for bulky external components.
3-in-1 Monitoring: Displays Voltage (V), Current (A), and Power (W) all on one screen, providing a complete "health check" of your circuit.
Integrated Current Shunt: The internal 5A shunt simplifies wiring. There is no need to wire an external resistor—simply connect your load in series.
Fine-Tuning Calibration: The back of the PCB includes two small potentiometers for voltage and current calibration, allowing you to match the readings to your professional multimeter perfectly.
Low Power Consumption: The meter itself draws very little current, ensuring it doesn't drain your battery while monitoring it.
Panel-Mount Design: Featuring built-in clips, it snaps easily into any standard rectangular cutout in your Electrapac project box.
To ensure accurate readings and protect the module, follow this specific wiring configuration:
Thin Red/Black Wires: Power supply for the meter itself (typically 7V – 12V DC).
Thick Red Wire: Connect to the Positive (+) side of the load you are measuring.
Thick Black Wire: Connect to the Negative (-) side of the power source (Load Ground).
Electrapac Tech Tip: Always ensure the Thick Black wire is connected to the ground of the circuit. Connecting the ammeter wires across a power source (like a voltmeter) will cause a short circuit and destroy the internal shunt.
Bench Power Supplies: Upgrade an old power supply with a modern digital readout.
Solar Panel Monitoring: Track how many watts your solar panels are producing in real-time.
Battery Discharge Testing: Monitor the health of 12V or 24V batteries under load.
Motor Testing: Measuring the "stall current" and power draw of DC motors and actuators.
LED Drivers: Monitoring the precise voltage and current being delivered to high-power LED arrays.
