Compact Design: Shell-in-one structure for enhanced durability High Voltage Output: Capable of stepping up voltage to DC 200-400KV Efficient Current Handling: Input 4A and output 0.5A Polar Discharge Distance: Approximately 1.5 cm, beyond which damage may occur Read more
The 400kV High Voltage Boost Step-up Power Module is a powerful electrostatic generator designed for high-tension experiments. At Electrapac, we recommend this module for hobbyists and students looking to explore the principles of high-voltage physics, ignition systems, or electronic DIY projects.
This module utilizes the principle of a Tesla coil to convert a low-voltage DC input into a staggering 400,000V high-voltage pulse. The output manifests as a high-frequency electric arc between the two thick output wires. It is a compact, high-efficiency unit encapsulated in a rugged, heat-resistant housing.
Incredible Power Conversion: Effortlessly steps up a small 3.7V Lithium battery or 6V battery pack to high-tension arcs.
Compact and Integrated: The internal circuitry is fully potted in resin, making it moisture-proof and shock-resistant for use in various environments.
Instant Ignition: The high-energy arc can instantly ignite paper, gas, or fuel, making it a favorite for DIY stove igniters or scientific demonstrations.
Simple Two-Wire Operation: Features two thin input wires (Low Voltage) and two thick, high-insulation output wires (High Voltage) for straightforward integration.
Excellent Heat Dissipation: Designed for short-burst operation, the housing is built to manage the rapid energy transfer efficiently.
WARNING: This module produces extremely high voltage.
Strict Operation Time: To avoid burning out the internal transformer, do not operate the module continuously for more than 5–10 seconds. Allow it to cool down between pulses.
Arc Distance Adjustment: Before powering on, ensure the two output wires are placed between 10mm and 20mm apart.
Power Source: We recommend using a high-drain 3.7V 18650 Li-ion battery for the best performance. Standard AA alkaline batteries may not provide enough current ($A$) to trigger the arc.
Polarity Matters: On the input side, Red is Positive (
Scientific Experiments: Demonstrating dielectric breakdown of air or static electricity principles.
DIY High-Voltage Igniters: Building electronic lighters for gas stoves or science fair projects.
Security Prototypes: Used in research for pulse-based deterrent systems.
Pest Control Research: Developing electronic systems for agricultural pest management.
We source the 400kV Boost Modules with high-quality internal windings to ensure the arc is consistent and the insulation is robust. Visit
