The DC 5V-12V to 12V UPS Uninterruptible Power Control Module is an essential component for anyone looking to build a reliable battery backup system. It intelligently manages the transition between external power and battery power, ensuring your devices never restart during a blackout. Read more
The DC 5V-12V to 12V UPS Charging & Converter Module is an all-in-one power management solution designed to provide a steady 12V output regardless of whether your main power is on or off. At Electrapac, we recommend this module for building DIY Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) for routers, modems, and low-power 12V electronics.
This module acts as a bridge between your power adapter, a 3.7V lithium battery, and your 12V device. It features a high-efficiency Boost Converter that steps up the battery voltage to 12V and an Integrated Charger that keeps your 18650 cell topped up while the main power is connected. In the event of a power failure, the module switches to battery power with zero millisecond delay, ensuring your device never reboots.
Universal Input: Can be powered by a standard 5V smartphone charger or a 12V DC adapter, making it highly adaptable to your existing hardware.
True UPS Functionality: The switching between "Line Power" and "Battery Power" is instantaneous. Your WiFi router or IP camera won't even notice the power went out.
Compact Integration: Combines a charging circuit, protection circuit, and boost converter on a single tiny PCB, saving significant space in your Electrapac projects.
Built-in Battery Protection: Prevents your 18650 lithium battery from over-charging and, more importantly, over-discharging (auto-cut-off at ~2.5V).
LED Status Indicators: Typically features onboard LEDs to show "Charging" and "Full" status for easy monitoring.
Follow these four connection points to set up your Electrapac UPS system:
VIN+ / VIN-: Connect your input power source (5V to 12V adapter).
BAT+ / BAT-: Connect a single 3.7V Lithium battery (or multiple 18650s wired in Parallel for longer backup time).
VOUT+ / VOUT-: Connect to your 12V device (e.g., your router's power input).
Heat Management: If drawing more than 1A continuously, ensure the module is placed in a ventilated area, as boost converters generate heat during high-load operation.
WiFi Router Backup: Keep your internet active during power outages for 2–5 hours (depending on battery capacity).
12V IP Cameras: Ensure security recording continues even if the main power is disconnected or cut.
Attendance Systems: Powering biometric fingerprint or RFID scanners that must stay online 24/7.
Smart Home Gateways: Providing a backup power source for Zigbee/Z-Wave hubs.
LED Emergency Lights: Creating a 12V light that automatically stays on when the grid goes down.
We source our UPS Converter Modules with high-quality inductors to ensure the 12V output is clean and free of the electrical noise that can interfere with WiFi signals. At
