The MP1584 DC-DC Step Down Buck Converter is one of the smallest yet most powerful adjustable power modules available. Despite its tiny footprint, it can deliver up to 3A of current, making it an excellent choice for applications where space is at a premium but power demand is high. Read more
The MP1584 DC-DC Step-Down Buck Converter is an ultra-compact, high-frequency voltage regulator designed for projects where space is at a premium.
The MP1584 is a high-frequency switching regulator with a built-in internal power MOSFET.
Ultra-Compact Size: It is one of the smallest 3A buck converters available, making it the top choice for Electrapac customers building wearable tech or compact drones.
High-Frequency Performance: The 1.5MHz switching speed ensures a very clean output with minimal electrical noise, which is critical for sensitive RF and audio equipment.
Efficiency: With up to 96% efficiency, very little energy is wasted as heat, which extends the battery life of your portable projects.
Fine-Tuning: Features a tiny on-board potentiometer to precisely set voltages for ESP32 (3.3V), Arduino (5V), or FPV cameras (12V).
Wide Input Range: Capable of handling up to 28V, allowing you to power 5V logic directly from a 6S LiPo battery pack.
To get the best performance out of this Electrapac power module:
Solder Connections: The module uses solder pads rather than screw terminals to keep the profile slim.
Voltage Adjustment: Use a small flat-head screwdriver to turn the potentiometer. Note: On many MP1584 boards, the potentiometer is very sensitive. Always monitor the output with a multimeter before connecting your load.
Heat Management: While rated for 3A, the tiny surface area means heat builds up quickly. For continuous loads above 1.5A, ensure the module has good airflow or is mounted to a small heat sink.
Fixed Voltage Hack: Advanced users often remove the potentiometer and bridge specific pads to create a "Fixed" 3.3V or 5V output for even greater stability.
FPV Drones & RC Gear: Stepping down high-voltage LiPo batteries to power flight controllers and video transmitters.
Portable Electronics: Creating 5V USB power from 12V or 24V battery systems in tight enclosures.
IoT & Sensors: Powering ESP8266/ESP32 modules that require a steady 3.3V from a 12V adapter.
DIY Smart Home: Integrating into small junction boxes where larger converters (like the LM2596) won't fit.
Mobile Robotics: Providing regulated power to logic boards while the main battery drives the motors.
We source the MP1584 Modules with high-grade ceramic capacitors to ensure long-term reliability and stable voltage delivery. At
