Discover the versatility of the 35mm Piezo Element, available now at Electrapac. This high-quality piezoelectric diaphragm is an essential component for projects involving sound generation or vibration sensing. Measuring 35mm in diameter, this element is larger and more sensitive than standard buzzers, making it capable of producing louder tones and detecting even the slightest mechanical vibrations. The 35mm Piezo Element with Connected Wires is a versatile acoustic component used for both sound generation and vibration sensing. At Electrapac, we recommend this large-diameter piezo for projects requiring high sensitivity or louder audio output than standard smaller discs.
This piezo element consists of a high-quality piezoelectric ceramic disc bonded to a 35mm brass plate. When an electrical signal is applied, it vibrates to create sound (acting as a speaker). Conversely, when it is physically tapped or vibrated, it generates a small voltage (acting as a sensor). The pre-soldered wires make it "project-ready" for immediate use.
Dual-Mode Functionality: Can be used as a Buzzer for alarms or as a Knock Sensor for security systems and musical instruments.
Large Surface Area: The 35mm diameter provides a wider frequency response and higher sensitivity compared to 20mm or 27mm versions.
Pre-Soldered Leads: Soldering directly to piezo ceramics can be difficult and can crack the element. Our units come with factory-soldered red and black wires for a secure connection.
Ultra-Thin Profile: Its flat, "wafer-thin" design allows it to be glued inside tight spaces, such as under a guitar bridge or inside a thin plastic casing.
Low Power Consumption: Requires minimal current to operate, making it ideal for battery-powered microcontroller projects.
To get the best performance from your purchase at
As a Sounder: Connect to a PWM pin on an Arduino. Use a $100\text{ }\Omega$ resistor in series to protect the pin and use the tone() function to create melodies or alerts.
As a Sensor: To use it as a "knock" or "vibration" sensor, connect a 1 Megohm resistor in parallel with the piezo to bleed off excess voltage and protect your microcontroller's analog input.
Mounting: For maximum sound or sensitivity, use double-sided tape or a small drop of superglue to attach the brass side firmly to a flat, resonant surface.
Acoustic Pickups: Glue it inside a guitar, violin, or drum to create a DIY musical instrument pickup.
Security Alarms: Use it as a glass-break sensor or a door-knock detector.
DIY Keypads: Create "touch-less" buttons by detecting vibrations on a surface.
Medical Devices: Used in some heart-rate or pulse-monitoring equipment to detect subtle vibrations.
