The XL6019 (Upgraded XL6009) 5A DC-DC Boost Converter is a high-efficiency power module designed to step up lower voltages to a higher, stable output. Engineered for reliability, this module outperforms standard converters by offering a higher current threshold and ultra-low ripple for sensitive electronics. Read more
The XL6009/XL6019 5A DC-DC Boost Converter is a high-performance power module designed to step up a low input voltage to a higher, regulated output voltage. At Electrapac, we recommend this module for projects that require more "muscle" than standard boosters, offering a higher current ceiling and a broader output range of up to 50V.
This module utilizes the advanced XL6019 (the upgraded successor to the XL6009) high-frequency switching architecture.
Upgraded XL6019 Chip: Features better thermal management and higher reliability than the older XL6009 models.
Extreme Boost Range: Unlike many converters that top out at 35V, this high-performance module can reach 50V, making it ideal for specialized industrial applications.
Low Noise Output: High-quality filter capacitors and a shielded inductor minimize electrical noise, protecting your Electrapac microcontrollers from interference.
Precision Potentiometer: A multi-turn trimmer allows for exact voltage settings, ensuring you don't over-voltage your connected devices.
Wide Input Compatibility: Works seamlessly with 3.7V Lithium cells, 5V USB power, or 12V Lead-Acid batteries.
To ensure your Electrapac boost module performs at its peak, please follow these steps:
The "Step-Up" Rule: This is a Boost converter. The output voltage must always be set higher than the input voltage for the module to function correctly.
Voltage Adjustment: Use a small screwdriver on the blue trimpot.
Clockwise: Increases the output voltage.
Counter-clockwise: Decreases the output voltage.
Power Limits: While the chip is rated for 5A switching current, the board is optimized for 15W of continuous power. If your project draws more than 15W, we strongly suggest adding a small aluminum heatsink to the main chip.
Wiring: Use high-quality copper wire for the IN+/IN- and OUT+/OUT- pads to prevent voltage drops.
LED Drivers: Powering 24V or 36V LED strips from a 12V vehicle battery.
Networking Hardware: Running 24V PoE injectors or routers from 12V solar battery banks.
Industrial Sensors: Providing a 24V or 48V rail for specialized PLC or automation sensors.
Laptop Power: Creating a DIY mobile charger to run 19V laptops from a 12V car socket.
Hobbyist Lab: A versatile tool for any workbench to test components that require non-standard high voltages.
At Electrapac, we source modules with high-grade inductors to ensure the "Low Ripple" promise is kept. Visit us at for the premium power modules that drive your most ambitious electronics projects.
