The 4-Wire IR Infrared Flame Detection Module is a high-sensitivity security component designed to detect fire sources or light wavelengths in the range of
This sensor uses a specialized infrared receiver tube to detect the specific light spectrum emitted by a flame. The onboard LM393 voltage comparator chip ensures a stable signal, while the 4-wire design allows you to read a simple "Yes/No" digital trigger or a nuanced analog value to determine the intensity or distance of the fire.
Dual Output Versatility:
Digital (DO): Outputs a High/Low signal when a flame is detected. Ideal for simple alarms.
Analog (AO): Outputs a voltage proportional to the flame's intensity.
Adjustable Sensitivity: Features a multi-turn precision potentiometer.
Real-Time Indicators: Equipped with two on-board LEDs—one for Power status and one for Signal trigger—making it easy to debug without a computer.
Fast Response Time: High-speed IR detection ensures your safety system reacts in milliseconds, potentially preventing major fire damage.
Universal Compatibility: Works seamlessly with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, and PIC microcontrollers available at
To get the most reliable results from your Electrapac flame sensor:
VCC/GND: Connect to 3.3V or 5V.
DO (Digital): Connect to an Interrupt pin on your Arduino for immediate fire alerts.
AO (Analog): Connect to an Analog pin (A0) to measure how "big" or "close" the fire is.
Placement: The sensor is sensitive to the infrared spectrum.
Pro Tip: For a fire-fighting robot build, mount three of these sensors in a semi-circle (Left, Center, Right) to give your robot "peripheral vision" to locate the fire's exact direction.
Fire-Fighting Robots: Detecting and homing in on candles or small fires to extinguish them.
Industrial Safety: Monitoring gas burners or furnaces for "flame-out" conditions.
Smart Home Alarms: Adding an extra layer of protection to kitchens or workshops.
Safety Shut-off Systems: Automatically cutting power to a machine if a spark or flame is detected.
