Product Overview

This module features eight infrared (IR) transmitter-receiver pairs mounted in a precise linear row. By detecting the contrast between a dark line (low reflection) and a light surface (high reflection), the array provides your microcontroller with a high-resolution "map" of where the line is. The 8-channel density allows for advanced algorithms like PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) control, ensuring your robot doesn't "wobble" but glides perfectly along the track.

  3. The PID Secret: Don't just program "If Left, Turn Left." Use the 8 channels to calculate an Error Value. For example, if the line is under the far-right sensor, your error is +4; if it's under the center-right, the error is +1. This allows for proportional steering!
