The u-blox NEO-6M GPS Module is a high-performance satellite positioning engine designed for precision tracking. The NEO-6M is a standalone GPS receiver featuring a high-performance u-blox 6 positioning engine. It comes integrated on a development board with a built-in EEPROM for saving configuration data and a rechargeable backup battery for fast "hot starts." The module communicates via a simple TTL serial interface, making it compatible with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, and Pixhawk flight controllers.
High-Sensitivity Engine: Capable of tracking even in "urban canyons" or under dense foliage with a tracking sensitivity of -161 dBm.
Onboard EEPROM & Battery: Stores system configuration and satellite data.
Included Ceramic Antenna: Ships with a high-gain passive ceramic antenna that connects via a standard u.FL (IPX) connector for excellent reception.
LED Status Indicator: Features an onboard LED that blinks when a successful satellite lock is achieved, making troubleshooting simple.

Outdoor Advantage: For the first "Cold Start," the module must be placed outdoors with a clear view of the sky. It may take up to 2 minutes to acquire its first lock.
Level Shifting: While the module accepts 5V power, the data pins are 3.3V. For 5V microcontrollers like the Arduino Uno, use a logic level shifter or resistors for the RX pin.
