The MG995 180° Metal Gear TowerPro Servo Motor is a high-torque, high-speed powerhouse designed for heavy-duty applications.
The MG995 is a "standard" size digital servo featuring a robust all-metal gear train and dual ball bearings.
Mighty Metal Gears: Unlike the plastic gears in the SG90, the MG995's metal internal gears can handle high-stress "jams" without stripping, ensuring a much longer lifespan.
Double Ball Bearing Design: The output shaft is supported by two ball bearings, which significantly reduces friction and provides a "shake-free" stable movement even under heavy loads.
Rapid Response Time: As a digital servo, it processes PWM signals much faster than analog versions, resulting in smoother motion and more accurate positioning.
Weather & Dust Resistant: The internal circuitry is housed in a sturdy, tightly sealed plastic case, making it resilient enough for use in RC boats and monster trucks.
Plug-and-Play Compatibility: Works seamlessly with the standard Servo.h library for Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi.
The MG995 uses the standard 3-wire color code for easy installation:
Orange (Signal): Connect to your microcontroller's PWM pin.
Red (VCC): Connect to a 5V–7V external power source.
Brown (GND): Connect to the common ground of your circuit.
Important Power Note: Because this servo draws up to 1.2A (Stall Current), we strongly recommend using an external power supply or a battery pack.
Powering it directly from an Arduino's 5V pin may cause your board to reset or damage its regulator.
Robotics: Ideal for joint movement in robotic arms and bipedal walkers.
RC Models: Perfect for steering in 1/10 and 1/8 scale RC cars, trucks, and boat rudders.
Automation: Use it for automatic door locks, solar tracking panels, or heavy-duty camera gimbals.
Education: A great tool for teaching PID control and mechanical engineering concepts.
