Product Overview

The MG996R features a full metal gear train and a redesigned internal control system. This "R" version (Revised) significantly improves on its predecessor by offering better centering, higher accuracy, and a more robust PCB that handles shock and vibration much more effectively.

Wiring & Power Guide

The MG996R follows the standard servo wiring code:

  1. Brown (GND): Connect to Ground (-).

  2. Red (VCC): Connect to Power (+), typically 5V–6V.

  3. Orange (Signal): Connect to a PWM-capable pin on your controller.

Important Power Note: Due to its high torque, the MG996R has a stall current of up to 2.5A. We strongly advise against powering this motor directly from an Arduino's 5V pin. Instead, use an external power supply and ensure the Ground (GND) is shared with your microcontroller.
