Take total control over your small motor projects with the 2A Low Voltage PWM Speed Controller, available at Electrapac. This ultra-compact module allows you to precisely regulate the speed of any DC motor from 0% to 100% using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). Unlike standard resistors, this PWM controller maintains high torque even at lower speeds by pulsing the power efficiently. Read more
The PWM DC Motor Speed Controller (1.8V – 12V 2A) is an essential tool for precision control of small DC motors. At Electrapac, we recommend this ultra-compact regulator for DIYers working on low-voltage projects like mini fans, toy cars, or LED dimming where efficiency and smooth adjustment are key.
This controller uses Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) to adjust motor speed. Unlike simple resistors that waste energy as heat, PWM switches the power on and off extremely fast, allowing you to control the speed from 0% to 100% while maintaining high torque even at low speeds.
Smooth Speed Transition: The high-quality potentiometer allows for "stepless" speed adjustment. Turn the knob to go from a dead stop to full speed without any jerking.
Integrated Power Switch: The knob includes a "click" at the start (OFF position), so you can turn your project on and off without adding an extra toggle switch.
Safety First: Equipped with a 2A self-recovery fuse. If the current exceeds 2A, the fuse automatically disconnects and resets once the load is removed, protecting your motor and battery.
Versatile Dimming: Although designed for motors, this PWM board is also excellent for dimming DC LEDs or controlling the heat of small nichrome wire cutters.
Ultra-Low Voltage Support: It is one of the few controllers that can operate as low as 1.8V, making it perfect for single-cell battery projects.
For a safe and successful setup from
Power Input: Connect your DC power source (Battery or Adapter) to the Power + and Power - terminals. Warning: Do not connect this to AC (e.g., a wall outlet) as it will burn out immediately.
Motor Connection: Connect your DC motor to the Motor + and Motor - terminals. If the motor spins in the wrong direction, simply swap these two wires.
Operation: Ensure your input voltage matches the rated voltage of your motor. For example, if you are using a 6V motor, use a 6V power source.
Note: This controller is designed for a maximum of 2A. For larger motors like the 775 series, please check our higher-rated 10A or 40A controllers at Electrapac.
Mini Fans: Control the breeze of a 5V or 12V DC cooling fan.
Robotics: Adjust the drive speed of small toy cars or mobile robots.
LED Dimming: Create adjustable lighting for models or display cases.
DIY Tools: Precision speed control for mini PCB drills or engraving pens.
