Shrink your wireless projects with the SIM800L GPRS GSM Module, available now at the best price in Bangladesh from ElectraPac. The SIM800L is famous for being one of the smallest GSM modules in the world, yet it packs a punch with quad-band support (850/900/1800/1900MHz). It works perfectly with all mobile networks in Bangladesh, including Grameenphone, Robi, and Banglalink, making it a favorite for Dhaka’s engineering students and startup developers. Read more
The SIM800L GPRS GSM Module is the ultimate cellular communication solution for compact IoT projects.
The SIM800L is a quad-band GSM/GPRS breakout board that works on frequencies of 850/900/1800/1900MHz.
Ultra-Miniature Design: One of the smallest GSM modules in the world, making it easy to embed into wearable tech or small tracking devices.
Full Cellular Functionality: Supports SMS (Text), Voice (Calling), and GPRS (Data), providing a complete communication suite for your DIY projects.
Low Power Consumption: Features a sleep mode that draws very little current, perfect for battery-powered remote sensors.
Standard AT Commands: Controlled via a simple Serial interface, making it compatible with almost any microcontroller, from a basic 8051 to an advanced Raspberry Pi.
Dual Antenna Options: Usually comes with both a high-gain "pigtail" antenna and a compact "spring" antenna to suit your enclosure needs.
The Electrapac SIM800L is powerful but very sensitive to power supply quality. Read this carefully before connecting:
Voltage is Vital: The module requires 3.4V to 4.4V. It cannot be powered directly by the 5V pin of an Arduino. A LiPo Battery (3.7V) or a high-quality Buck Converter (LM2596) set to 4.0V is mandatory.
Current Spikes: During network registration or transmission, the SIM800L can draw up to 2A peaks.
Logic Level Shifting: While the module is 5V tolerant on some pins, it is safer to use a 10Ω resistor or a level shifter on the RX line if connecting to a 5V Arduino.
Pro-Tip: Watch the LED indicator!
Fast Blink (1s): Searching for a network.
Slow Blink (3s): Successfully registered to the network.
Very Fast Blink: GPRS data is active.
Remote Security Alerts: Sending an SMS to your phone if a motion sensor or door switch is triggered.
Smart Agriculture: Reporting soil moisture levels from remote fields via GPRS to a central server.
Vehicle Tracking: Integrating with a GPS module to send location coordinates via SMS.
Remote Power Control: Turning on a pump or an AC unit by sending a specific "Text Command" to the module.
Industrial Monitoring: Automated error reporting for machinery located in areas without Wi-Fi.
