The USB Mini Humidifier DIY Kit is a high-frequency ultrasonic mist-making system designed for compact and portable applications. At Electrapac, we provide this complete kit for makers looking to build their own smart plant watering systems, desktop humidifiers, or creative scent diffusers.
This kit utilizes Ultrasonic Atomization technology. The driver circuit board converts a DC 5V input into a high-frequency electrical signal that vibrates the microporous ceramic atomizing transducer at speeds exceeding 100kHz. This vibration breaks water molecules apart, creating a fine, cool "dry" mist without the need for heat.
Fine Mist Output: The ceramic disk features thousands of laser-drilled micro-holes, ensuring the mist is fine enough to evaporate quickly without leaving a puddle on your desk.
USB Plug-and-Play: Can be powered by a laptop, power bank, or a standard 5V phone charger from
Onboard Switch Control: The driver board includes a physical button to toggle between "Continuous Mist," "Intermittent Mist," and "Off" modes.
Quiet Operation: Unlike traditional humidifiers, this ultrasonic method is virtually silent, making it perfect for office or bedside use.
Compact Integration: The small footprint of the PCB and the thin transducer disk allow it to be easily integrated into 3D-printed enclosures or recycled jars.
To ensure the best performance from your Electrapac kit:
Water Source: Use a cotton swab or wick to bring water to the bottom of the ceramic disk.
Orientation: The "front" of the atomizing plate (usually the side with the white rubber ring) should face upward/outward to release the mist.
Wicking: The back of the disk must be in contact with water (via the wick) to produce mist. Do not submerge the entire driver board in water.
Dry Start: Avoid running the module "dry" for long periods, as the high-frequency vibrations can cause the ceramic disk to overheat and crack without water to dissipate the energy.
Desktop Humidifiers: Keeping your workspace comfortable during dry winter months.
Smart Plant Care: Using an Arduino and a Soil Moisture Sensor from
Incubation Systems: Maintaining precise humidity levels in egg incubators or mushroom fruiting chambers.
Aromatherapy: Adding a drop of water-soluble essential oil to the water for a DIY scent diffuser.
Science Projects: Demonstrating the principles of ultrasonic waves and atomization.
We source our Mist Maker Kits with high-durability ceramic transducers that resist mineral buildup from hard water. At
