The Voltage Detection Sensor Module is a simple yet highly effective module that allows your microcontroller to measure voltages much higher than its own operating limit. By utilizing a high-precision resistive divider, it scales down an input voltage (up to 25V) into a range that your Arduino or ESP32 can safely read. Read more

The DC 0–25V Voltage Detection Sensor Module is a simple yet powerful tool that allows microcontrollers to measure high DC voltages safely. At Electrapac, we recommend this sensor for anyone building battery monitors, solar power trackers, or DIY power supplies where monitoring voltage levels is critical for system safety.

Product Overview

Most microcontrollers (like Arduino) can only sense up to 5V on their analog pins. This module uses a high-precision resistive voltage divider circuit to step down higher voltages by a factor of 5. This allows a standard 5V Arduino pin to safely measure up to 25V, or a 3.3V controller to measure up to 16.5V.

Key Features for Electrapac Customers
  • Safe Stepping Technology: Protects your expensive microcontrollers from high-voltage spikes by ensuring the output voltage never exceeds the safe limit of the input.

  • High Precision Resistors: Built with 1% tolerance resistors to ensure that your voltage readings remain accurate and consistent over time.

  • Compact & Lightweight: The tiny footprint makes it easy to tuck into battery boxes, RC drones, or small enclosure boxes for field use.

  • No External Power Required: Unlike active sensors, this module is passive. It draws its signal directly from the source being measured, simplifying your wiring.

  • Standard 3-Pin Interface: Features clearly labeled pins (S, +, and -) for a quick connection to breadboards or jumper wires.

Wiring & Calculation Guide

Connecting the Electrapac Voltage Sensor is a two-step process. You connect the source you want to measure to the screw terminals and the output to your Arduino:

  1. Input (Screw Terminals): * VCC: Connect to the Positive (+) of the battery/source.

    • GND: Connect to the Negative (-) of the battery/source.

  2. Output (3-Pin Header):

    • S (Signal): Connect to an Analog Pin (e.g., A0).

    • + (Not Used): This pin is usually unconnected.

    • - (GND): Connect to the Arduino Ground.

Primary Applications
  • Battery Level Indicators: Monitoring the health of 12V Lead-Acid or 3S 4S LiPo battery packs.

  • Solar Panel Monitoring: Tracking the real-time voltage output of small solar arrays.

  • DIY Bench Power Supplies: Adding a digital voltage readout to your custom power projects.

  • Robotics: Ensuring your robot's motors have enough voltage to operate before starting a mission.

  • IoT Remote Sensing: Sending battery voltage data over Wi-Fi to your phone to know when it's time to recharge.
